Independence and disclosure
Turn On Sound operates as a standalone editorial and tools brand. When an article covers a product with which the team has a commercial or ownership relationship, that material relationship is disclosed prominently on the page. Related-product guides are never presented as independent reviews.
Sources
We prefer first-party product pages, documentation, help centers, standards, and direct data. Time-sensitive comparison pages show the date on which features or fees were checked and link readers to current primary sources.
Comparisons
Comparisons begin with a user goal, not a predetermined winner. We avoid composite scores that hide tradeoffs. A platform can be strongest for direct sales and weaker for discovery; both facts can be useful.
Testing and evidence
We will not label a product “tested” unless an editor actually used the relevant workflow. Audio comparisons must identify the source, processing path, listening method, and any commercial relationship. Screenshots and examples should reflect the current product state.
Assisted editorial tools
Drafting, research organization, coding, and quality checks may use automated assistance. Publication responsibility stays with the editorial team. Assisted text does not substitute for source verification, product testing, legal review, or a real author’s judgment.
Corrections and updates
Send corrections to hello@turnonsound.com with the page, disputed statement, and supporting source. We update factual errors and the verification date when a revision materially changes the guide.
